I am truly humbled by the interest in my Gelled Lighting Workshop. It has been my most sought after photo style for some time now, and for good reason - we create unique, colorful shots using colored lighting alone, in-camera.
If you want to add some extra creativity to your lighting skills or offer something more engaging to your clients, this is the workshop for you.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge and techniques with others. Don't miss out on this opportunity to improve your skills and bring something new to your photography.
Learning is liberation.
Here are just some of the topics I will be covering on the day:
Lighting: Break some rules and bring color into your workflow. Learn how understanding color gel lighting can make you a better photographer with all light.
Essential lighting techniques on a budget: How to create saturated, bold, dramatic color using a minimal amount of gear. I believe the best art is the art you make, and gear shouldn’t be a limiting factor. We teach lighting setups that work in small spaces with practical gear. We will also teach you how to utilize the full space of our studio.
Color theory: Color theory is incredibly important to all aspects of photography, even if you never shoot color gels again this will be knowledge you carry with you the rest of your life. Color brings story and emotions to life, and understanding how to harness the power of color will unlock new creative doors and opportunities.
Learning control through advanced lighting setups: I will show you how to light big studio style, for when you have the space. However after we shoot, we will break it down and I will teach you how to deconstruct big lighting setups for small spaces. A good photographer should be able to work in any situation.
What’s covered on the day of the workshop?
In these workshops, we'll be keeping things intimate with a small group of just nine people, so you can bet you'll get plenty of hands-on shooting time. Then we'll move on to edge lighting with gels, and finish things off with a setup that'll give you a super saturated color wash.
Throughout the day, I'll be answering any questions you've got and helping you avoid those classic pitfalls when it comes to using gels. Trust me, you won't want to miss this opportunity to get your hands on some killer shots.
